Our Amazon.com Ranking!

Picture_12_2With your help, we were able to achieve #111 (Sales Ranking) out of the 4,000,000 or so books at Amazon.com. And, we accomplished our goals on the careers list too. We were the number one bestselling job hunting book today, 5 on the general careers list, and 19 in the business and investing category. And, with all that action, we topped at 11 on the Amazon movers and shakers list. Not a bad day!

Did you know that only 5% of the 185,000 books released each year sell more than 5,000 copies? Getting a book published with major publisher like Wiley is an awesome way to build your personal brand, but it is major undertaking (that may be putting in mildly). We're in it for the long haul, so thanks again for buying Career Distinction today and for your continued support in helping us spread the word.

We'll be celebrating in Boston tomorrow!

Join us for lunch in Boston this Wednesday?

On June 13th, William Arruda will be delivering the luncheon keynote for the AMA Boston. This event is open to the public, and everyone who registers will receive a copy of Career Distinction. I will be there too, and we look forward to meeting you there. You can get all the details and register online here.

JibberJobber is hosting a free Career Distinction Teleseminar

5 June 2007 Update from Kirsten Dixson: It was fun having Jason Alba interview us today. He asked a lot of thoughtful questions about the book and personal branding in general. If you missed it, you can listen now:

Here’s a twist on the free teleseminar thing - how about spending an hour with me, William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson where I ask about all kinds of cool personal branding questions for you?

June 5, 2007 (Tuesday) at:

10-11 am Los Angeles
11-12 pm Denver
12-1 pm Chicago
1-2 pm New York

William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson recently finished what might become the bible on personal branding, titled Career Distinction: Stand Out by Building Your Brand. I’ve heard William twice and I was able to get to know Kirsten at the Career Master’s Institute conference in Kentucky a couple of months ago where we co-presented with Wendy Terwelp. I have been very impressed and can safely say that they are way more passionate about personal branding than I am.

Isn’t that saying a lot??

They are on top of their game, and I am already thinking of questions to ask them for this one-hour call. I’d like to invite you to come join us - and have two requests:

First, send me your questions. Or leave them as comments on my blog. I’ll be reviewing their book on the JibberJobber blog in the next week or two, and I don’t want the call to be a book report. Let’s gear the call towards you - send me questions you have (or leave them as comments here).

Second, let’s fill this call up! There are 100 free seats on this call, register now, reserve your seat, and let others know about it. There are enough cool people that read the JibberJobber blog that we should be sold out… but get your seat now.

I’m excited about this call… make sure you register below to get an email with the call-in details, send me any questions you have, and let your friends know about it!

Posted by Kirsten Dixson

As part of our monthly Reach Branding Club teleseminar series, the tables turned and Martin Yate interviewed us about Career Distinction: Stand Out by Building Your Brand. We are honored that Martin wrote the foreword for our book and took the time from writing his best-selling Knock 'em Dead series of books to facilitate today's call.

If you missed our lively discussion or would like to re-listen, here is the recording with a link to download the mp3 for your iPod.
